Are Fargen Amplifiers hand wired?
Yes. Every Fargen Amplifier is 100% handcrafted.
My reverb sounds far away and is not as loud as my “blackface” vintage amp reverb…
The Fargen reverb circuit is much more of a subtle ambiance rather than a “surf” style reverb. Think of the Fargen reverb in comparison to a high-end studio reverb.
Can I use both 6V6′s and 6L6′s in by Blackbird 20 or Blackbird 40?
No. Each amp was designed with a specific output transformer thus the Blackbird 20 uses only 6V6 power tubes and the Blackbird 40 uses only 6L6 power tubes.
Can I have my amp serviced locally?
Yes. We will assist a qualified local technician in your area. We also offer factory direct service using OEM parts.
Do you have a showroom or studio where I can hear your amps?
No. We have a growing, worldwide dealer network where you may demo our production amplifiers. Please visit the Fargen dealers page to find a Fargen dealer near you.
What is the warranty on Fargen Amplifiers?
Fargen Amplifiers have a limited lifetime guarantee against defects and workmanship to the original owner. Please visit the Fargen warranty page for more details.
Who is responsible for shipping charges on warranty repairs?
The owner is responsible for ALL shipping charges regarding ALL warranty repairs.
Can I get custom cosmetics on my Fargen Amplifier?

What brand of transformers does Fargen use?
Every Fargen Amplifier features Mercury Magnetic’s Transformers.
What material does Fargen use for their amplifier chassis?
Every Fargen Amplifier features a 1/8″ aircraft grade aluminum chassis.
What speakers do you use in Fargen Combo Amplifiers and Extension Cabinets?
We proudly use Eminence and Celestion Speakers.
Can I order my Fargen Amplifier with 220V, 230V, or 240V power?
Yes. There is a small price increase. Please contact us for details.
What are the differences between the Mini Plex MKII and MKI?
They are not the same amp design … the MKII tone and performance is completely improved from an MKI.
Here is the list of things the MKII has that the MKI does not have:
- London Power / Power Scaling control 12 watts down to less than a 1/2 watt
- Custom Mercury Magnetics transformers w/ 4-8-16 ohm taps
- SoZo vintage style mustard capacitors
- Use EL34/KT66 /KT77/6550/6L6/5881/6V6 ECT
- DC Filaments for ultra quiet operation
- 1/8″ aluminum chassis for the true vintage British amp sound
