Anyone who has been in the Sacramento music scene for a while knows my man Steve Amaral. Not only is Steve one of the best guys you will ever know, he is a great player and is serious about great guitar tone. Steve’s new band, The Nickel Slots, recently released their kickin’ new full length self titled album. Check out all the details on the band and upcoming shows at:

Steve used a Fargen custom shop 2 x EL84 amp that is a cross between a Vox AC-15 and Marshall 1974X.
Here is what Steve had to say about his Fargen amp during the recording process for The Nickle Slots:
“I used the amp on all of the songs, and played either my Fender Telecaster with Texas Specials or my Reverend Double Agent”
“I really happy with all of the guitar tones and solos on the recording. Some of my favorite tracks are 120 Days 120 Nights, Stop Sign, Good Old Days, Evolution, If You’ve Got Nothing Good to Say, and RaceHorse.”
“I played the amp thru a 4×12 Marshall bottom with 25 watts Celestians. Plugged the guitar straight into the amp!”
“Like I mentioned I continue to get complements on my guitar tone. And when we mastered it with Eric Broyhill he said that my guitar tone was a pleasure to mix.”
